Education and Training

  • The U. S. government offers veterans assistance in the following areas:

o   Veteran Handbooks
The VA offers handbooks on a number of veteran related subjects

o   G.I. Bill Web Site
The VA offers information on all aspects of the G.I. Bill

o   Military members and veterans have several different educational benefits available from the Department of Veterans Affairs, and you may qualify for more than one.

1.     You can use the Benefit Comparison Tool to help narrow down which program is best for you.

2.     Once you determine which benefits you qualify for, you can apply for them online.

Housing

·        According to a new settlement, some Servicemembers and Veterans may receive housing relief. Relief could affect those who were:

o   Wrongly foreclosed upon

o   Wrongfully denied the opportunity to reduce their mortgage payments through lower interest rates

o   Forced to sell their homes for less than they were worth due to a change in station

o   Get further details about these new provisions for military homeowners.

  • The Federal government's business portal has a page dedicated to Business.gov.
  • Grants.gov allows you to search for grants from the federal government for personal or business reasons.
  • The Veteran's Administration Center for Veterans Enterprise provides up to the minute information from the Federal Government as it pertains to Service Disabled and Veteran Owned Small Businesses.
  • The Small Business Administration offers general assistance for veteran business owners and startups.

·       The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has a new mobile website created for use on all mobile devices. Here, service members, veterans and their dependants can find services and information, including facility locations, benefits and tips for returning service members.
